Welcome

Hi, I'm Pieter — a hands-on, all-round handyman with a head for smart solutions. I enjoy projects that combine thinking and doing, from fixing practical issues to improving how things work. I work independently and part-time, combining my job in education with projects I find meaningful and challenging — not necessarily strange, just interesting.

My background

With roots in electrical work, plumbing, ICT, education, management, and a touch of tech wizardry, I combine sharp thinking with dirty hands — in the best possible way. I'm not your average handyman. I don't just fix things; I make them better. I thrive on challenges that make me think — especially the ones others gave up on. Strategy meets screwdriver: I plan, I build, I troubleshoot, and I make sure it actually works. I work solo (no crew of five watching me drill a hole) and I work smart (because complexity is overrated). Whether it's a chaotic cable mess, a rebellious pipe, or a system that needs both brains and order — I bring clarity, structure, and a solid dose of “let's just do this right.” And yes, I enjoy a job well done — even if there's no applause at the end. Though a good cup of coffee never hurts.

What I love doing

I'm a true generalist — especially when it comes to electrical or technical challenges that don't fit the manual. That's where I come alive. Give me something quirky, tricky or half-finished, and I'll find a clever way to make it work (better).

  • Electrical & Electronics Systems
  • Water & Gas Installations
  • ICT & Smart Technologies (networking, gadgets, automation)
  • Creative, non-standard technical challenges

Also Possible

  • Drywall, light carpentry
  • Interior & Exterior painting

Where I work

Home base is Amsterdam area, but I don't stay put for long. I love combining good work with new places — so if you've got a project that needs a sharp mind and capable hands, I'm happy to come your way. From jungle lodge to desert hideout, mountain retreat to island cabana — I'm open to jobs abroad, as long as the local laws allow it and the logistics make sense. The further it is, the more we'll improvise with local tools and materials. That's part of the fun. Have tools, will travel. Let's build something — wherever the road leads.

The Fix Files
